Moving (again) and some thoughts

I'm moving by the end of October to a new house. The current one I'm living in has finally been rented by a construction company. The building used to be a series of medical offices; unfortunately nothing supernatural (well perhaps one or two strange things, but that's a story for another time) happened during our stay here. I'm going to miss this house (for I lived in it when I was a kid too) and thought I might be here for a year or two. With a little luck I will even move far away, but that is yet to be confirmed.

Now on a different subject:

It is rather strange how things turn out. Most of the happenings in my life occur due to coincidence or out of sheer luck; or destiny (whichever name you wish to use). I detest and disagree with people who say: "take life by the horns and control your destiny", "do everything in your grasp to control most aspects of your life", "I made myself the man I am today, without any help or what  fools call 'luck'", etc. I do think there is luck -opportunity- involved in victory and 'success' (depending on your definition of it), and that life is so random, that we would go insane if we really understood just how little our decisions affect the real outcome.
A friend of mine once told me that life was a matter of deciding: everyday you make choices and these have results, consequences. I asked if you took a flight and the plane crashed, would it be your fault because you decided to pick that particular plane and he replied with a "yes". I do think that's a lot of poppycock. It's like saying that history would dramatically changed if you picked -or not- a coin: if you did, 3rd World War would occur in 10 years' time. If you didn't, world peace would be achieved in 25 years... It would all depend on what you chose to do. It is not for us to think of it this way, or else everyone would try to avoid taking decisions and hence prevent eanything from happening.
I don't know if I'm making sense anymore. I'm tired and my thoughts are muddled.

Also, why in the name of all that is holy must people believe that if something is liked by the populi it's ok? If you like something, let it be because you REALLY like it, not because someone else told you it was great or because everyone else digs it. Have a little conviction ofr crying out loud.

One other thing. I do see that young people think it's 'cool' and, in fact, commendable, to publicize your deppest thoughts and feelings to the public (your fans, readers and what not) -without necessarily being a drama queen-. I can't find anything less attractive or interesting. To see a person become an open book is so terribly boring... where's the mystery, the slow process of knowing someone? Do most people nowadays think that their everyday thoughts are so important as to daily inform those around them about their ponderings and musings? Perhaps it's conceit, perhaps it's that they feel so above all others that their truth will shine from the virtual realm onto the world... dunno.

As last time, I've compiled some artists and their work so you can check them out:

Is moving every couple of years going to be a sustained pattern? Having moved very little myself, I find the idea of moving often to be both attractive and off-putting. Like goth-girls.

As you are probably aware I share your fascination with the moral and philosophical implications of chaos and luck. Responsibility of any kind becomes a hard sell when we don't know the future and can't even fully control our own bodies. and yet...

I'd say a lot more about that but I ham tired and have work tomorrow at 1 AM. heh.

That's a good bunch of prpomotions you've selected.
